There are several different Christmas Workshops to get you in the Festive mood this year. Perfect for beginners who want to try working with clay, and the perfect opportunity to make some presents for friends and family. These workshops are a great way to have fun, get creative and begin the Christmas merriment!
Christmas Clay Taster Workshops: In these short workshops, you will learn how to make a festive lantern or tealight holder and tree decorations. You will be shown different decoration techniques to finish your work. Once the workshop is over, your work will be fired and glazed, ready to be collected before Christmas. Everything is included in the price of the workshop, and you don't need to bring anything with you.
Saturday 2nd December
10am to 1pm - £45 - 8 places
2pm to 5pm - £45 - 8 places
These workshops are held at Kings Hall Farm, Well Hill.
At each workshop, there will be free tea and coffee as well as a little festive treat to get you in the mood for Christmas creativity!
Gold Leaf and Digital Transfers Workshop
Saturday 9th December 10am to 3pm - £60 - 5 places (price includes a light lunch)
A double craft workshop to get you in the mood for Christmas! Learn how to apply 23.5ct gold leaf to a collection of porcelain Christmas decorations. And learn how to apply digitally printed transfers to glazed ceramics. You will be supplied with a fine bone-china tea-cup and saucer to decorate, and there will be additional things to buy on the day to decorate. See website for details.
Both techniques are simple, no experience is required, and you will get lovely results from both workshops. And both techniques can be used to enhance multiple surfaces.
You will go home with delicate festive porcelain decorations, and your bone-china will be fired and ready to collect a few days later.
You can have your own designs printed, or use the studio transfers. Email Sophie via the Contact Page to get your own designs printed.
This workshop will be held at my home studio in Vine Road, a light veggie lunch will be provided (homemade soup and bread) with Christmas treats and plenty of tea and coffee throughout the day.
