Children over 10 and teenagers welcome when accompanied by an adult
Summer Pottery Courses
4 weeks - £170 (1 class per week)
Monday Mornings & Monday Evenings
22nd & 29th July, 5th & 12th August
Suitable for beginners, intermediates and experienced potters
Over the 4 lessons you will learn two hand-building techniques and you will get to try throwing on the potters wheel. You will also learn how to tidy the bases of your thrown pot. You will be shown multiple decoration techniques, and finally how to glaze your work. These classes are fun and friendly, and a give a good taster of both hand-building and throwing.
All materials, glaze, firings, and tools are provided and included in the price of the course
Hand-Building Courses
4 weeks - £170 (1 class per week)
Thursday Mornings & Thursday Evenings
25th July, 1st, 8th and 15th August
Suitable for beginners, intermediates and experienced potters
Over the 4 lessons you will focus on learning and developing hand-building techniques. You will learn how to plan and construct your forms, how to finesse your work and different surface decoration techniques. You will learn how to glaze your work. These classes are relaxed and friendly, and a great way to start learning about clay.
All materials, glaze, firings and tools are provided and included in the price of the course
Clay Mask Sculpture Course
1 Day - £150
10 - 4pm Saturday 20th July
You will learn how to sculpt a face in clay using a live model. You will learn how to map out the face and bone structure in proportion and put in the facial details.
All materials and tools are provided and included in the price of the course
*We can hollow and bisque fire your mask after the class for an additional £15
Animal Portrait Sculpture Course
3 Week Course - £150 (1 lesson per week)
3 Classes - 27th July, 3rd and 10th August 2 - 5pm
You will learn how to sculp clay into an animal head using photo’s as reference. Over the three classes you will learn how to map out the head shape, learn how to get the bones structure in proportion and add the facial features to bring your animal portrait to life.
You will need to bring photo’s of the animal head you would like to sculpt, printed or photocopied. You will need a photo from the front and from the side of the animal (and from behind if you can find one).
All materials and tools are provided and included in the price of the course
*We can hollow and bisque fire your animal sculpture after the class for an additional £20
